Day 5 My Favorite Quote

Sorry for being behind the 8 ball with these daily messages. Came down with a nasty head cold.

So my favorite quote:

My favorite quote comes from someone I consider an idol. I don't worship him but I admire his ideals. The quote comes from John Lennon's song "Imagine".

"You may call me a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. Someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one."

I love this quote because it just resonates with my soul. I hate fighting and death, and destruction. People always say there will be war in the world. I always try to look for the good in people. After 9/11 anyone of Muslim decent was looked upon with fear and hated. Little unknown fact by many is that just because you're Muslim, or Jewish, or Christian, or Buddhist doesn't make you a killer. We should try to live in peace and harmony with others.

Which brings me to my other favorite quote:

"Those who fail to learn from History or doomed to repeat it."

This is very true. My father likes to go on rants about Al Quida and how he hates them and we "should round them all up." This brings to mind images from WWII where we did just that after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We rounded up anyone of Asian decent and put them in American "concentration camps."  We proved in that moment we were no better than the Nazi's. We need to learn from History and refuse to make the same mistakes we did in the past.

So those are my two favorite quotes. Regardless of which side of the isle you're on, we must always be watchful of histories trends. Because we really do not want a repeat performance of some of the atrocities that took place.
