Prompt: 480 of Tamingthemuse "Home Soil"
Discription: Xander takes Spike back to London on a surprise trip.
“It was right here” Spike said gesturing wildly at the store front.
“I’m sorry they tore it down…” Xander started.
“This used to be where my home was, and now, NOW it’s an abomination to clothing everywhere” Spike said angrily as he took out a cigarette and lit it. Leaning back against a car parked behind him.
Xander stood there at a loss, not knowing how to comfort his best friend and lover who was mourning the loss of his childhood home that now was a “GAP.”
“What can I do?” He asked quietly.
“Not much you can do pet. My home's a store now.”
“Describe it to me” Xander said meeting Spike’s gaze, his eyes pleading.
Spike finished his cigarette and throwing the butt away looked over at Xander as he slowly blew out the smoke.
“Let’s find a nice place to sit down a while and I’ll tell ya all about it” Spike said as he wrapped an arm around Xander’s shoulders pulling him close.
Breathing in his boy’s scent, his anger at the loss of his past melted away. Leaning forward he pressed a chaste kiss against Xander’s neck and relished in the feel of him shivering slightly. Whether the shiver was from the cold of his lips or the moist London air, all he knew was he loved the feel of Xander’s flesh rippling under his fingertips.
“Y….Yeah, that would be great Spike.”
“What are you in the mood for? Curry? Fish n’ Chips? Bangers…n’ Mash?” He asked his words ghosting against the warm skin of Xander’s neck.
Xander spun to face Spike. Reaching up he crashed their lips together in a rough kiss. All Xander could think was to pour his heartache into his actions. Spike pulled away and was shocked at the tears he saw in his lover’s eyes.
“Pet, it’s not your fault” Spike said cupping Xander’s cheek with his palm.
“I know, just feel bad that my gift of bringing you back home turned out like this.”
“Home? This place isn’t home Xan.”
Xander flinched at Spike’s words. “Great, I failed again.” He thought miserably.
Spike leaned forward leaning his forehead against Xander’s, “Hey, look at me Pet.”
Xander looked up meeting Spike’s gaze and was shocked at the adoration shining there.
“Home for me is wherever you are.”
Xander smiled and pressing forward kissed Spike and melted into his embrace.
“You’re home for me too” he mumbled into Spike’s neck.
“Come on, pet. Let’s go see what else we can find here in Jolly ol’ London” Spike said his eyes gleaming with mischief.
“I look forward to it.”
